Install your copy of Myst w/QuickTime provided on the diskħ. Scroll down and find "QuickTime.qts" and delete it - (Yes, Delete it!!!)Ħ. Uninstall QuickTime - I used 'ControlPanel>Programs and Features' to do both of theseĤ. Uninstall Myst or Myst ME - whichever you haveĢ. And of course I was having the same problem posted here!!!ġ. I pulled my old myst disks out of a box and decided to install them and see if I could once again finish them. I'm not sure if anyone is still having this problem, but I found a solution!!! I have been in a Myst mood lately, and I'll be forever grateful if you can help me fix this.Īnd by the way, I tried Windows XP mode, and that didn't work either unfortunately D: Now I can deal with that every once in a while, but if it is happening constantly and it's not SUPPOSED to do that, then I have a problem haha. It worked, but I am getting this god awful crackling noise when playing the game. THEN I switched to Windows 95 compatibility mode. It played well for a minute or two, and then it crashed in the middle of a video (and it KEPT crashing when I retried it). I turned on Windows XP compatibility mode along with visual themes disabled and run as admin enabled.
I tried to boot the game normally, but the intro didn't play. I bought it because the DVD version didn't work EITHER!!!)Īnyways, here's my problem: First off, I installed Myst Masterpiece Edition onto my PC into the default directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Myst Masterpiece Edition). (It's funny because I heard good things about the GoG version of the game. No, I didn't find a solution on ANY of them. Yes, yet another thread about MYST crashing on 64-bit Windows 7.
